Christine Phillips, BSN, RN, FMCHC

Registered Nurse/Functional Medicine Health Coach

Christine is both a Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience and a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC).

Christine aligns with an integrative, holistic and empowering approach to discovering the root causes of dis-ease and the steps needed to regain wellbeing. Through her own journey of self healing and discovery, she began to learn about integrative health/functional medicine, mindfulness, stress management, nutrition and started applying that learning into actions in her own life, through the implementation of small modifiable lifestyle changes. As she did this, she began to respect the power of self care, rest, intention, movement, nature, community and whole food nutrition.

Christine believes that health and wellness are multidimensional and occur in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual realms. She is interested in how trauma affects health and manifests as illness in the body. Christine’s passion for integrative and functional medicine grew and that led her to becoming a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach.

This training lead to a renewed purpose in life, a career change out of the hospital environment, and allows her to do what she aspired to do when she became a nurse: serve and empower others to be stewards of their own health and wellbeing and help guide them in making choices that support their vision of optimal wellness throughout their lifespan. She is a strong advocate of aging well with vitality.

As both a Registered Nurse and Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC), Christine is uniquely positioned to partner with IMCNC health practitioners and individuals in a client centered process to support that person’s health and wellbeing. As an FMCHC, she is trained to work closely with clients around all the lifestyle factors (sleep/relaxation, exercise and movement, nutrition, stress management and relationships) that influence health. As mentioned above, she has used these pillars of health to redesign her own life and wellness and can attest to how much they impact one’s well being.

At IMCNC, Christine works as one of our Integrative Nurses and uses her knowledge and skills to support our patients towards their optimal level of health and wellness.

Energy Medicine

Energy Medicine (EM) is defined as any energetic or informational interaction with a biological system to bring back homeostasis in the organism. EM treats with the understanding that all illness results from disturbances in this energy known as the human biofield (chi or prana), and works by manipulating the body’s energy fields to achieve a positive effect on physical and mental health. Energy Medicine theory states “Physics does not override biochemistry, it drives it.”
