Welcome, and thank you for choosing to learn more about the Integrative Medical Clinic of North Carolina!

Answers to Common New Patient Questions About Care at IMCNC.

What is Different About Integrative Medical Care?

Integrative medicine takes a whole-person, patient-centered approach to care—focusing on more than just a single condition or diagnosis. It recognizes that health is influenced by many interconnected factors, including biology, behavior, environment, lifestyle, self-care, and stress.

This approach emphasizes restoring balance, preventing disease, and building long-term resilience. At IMCNC, care is guided by each patient’s individual needs and preferences, with a strong focus on listening, collaboration, and personalized treatment planning.

What Treatment Can I Expect for My Medical Concern?

Because care at IMCNC is so personalized, it can be difficult to answer this question. Testing is an important part of the process of identifying issues that may be affecting the patient’s well-being. Integrative Medicine practices use testing to take a much deeper dive into each person’s health biome. IMCNC does more testing, including some tests that are not used in traditional medical practices, than most other practices to identify potential issues that may be causing acute or chronic medical issues.

What to Expect at Your First Visit?

At your first visit your Provider will review your answers to the health questions you completed and will ask more questions about the history of the medical issues you are experiencing. Your Provider may offer options for next steps including testing, taking supplements and lifestyle changes. It is up to you, the patient, to determine your personal plan of action.

What to Expect at Your Second Visit?

When your first visit is scheduled, a second appointment will automatically be set for a lab review. This ensures you can be seen for a follow-up as soon as your lab results are available. During this visit, your provider will review your results with you and work with you to determine an appropriate treatment plan.

Note: If you choose not to complete lab testing or decide not to continue care at IMCNC, please cancel your second appointment at checkout or call (984) 999-0902 (Option 4) to cancel or reschedule.

How Do I Become a Patient at Integrative Medical Clinic?

Patients can easily schedule their own appointments by clicking the blue Book An Appointment button at the top of any page on our website. After scheduling, our New Patient Coordinator, DeMarcus Taylor, will contact you to confirm your information and collect a credit card to keep on file.

All patients are required to have a valid credit card on file and to pay for appointments in advance. If a credit card is not provided within 5 days of scheduling your first appointment, we will unfortunately have to cancel your appointment. For in-person visits, we also ask that you present your credit card for verification.

If you have any questions about becoming a new patient at IMCNC, DeMarcus Taylor is available to assist. He can be reached at (984) 280-3509 or via email at demarcus@imcnorthcarolina.com

What If I Want to Use IMCNC as My PCP for Primary Care?

IMCNC Providers are trained to handle many of the same services as a primary care practice, including annual physicals and treatment for common health concerns. However, they do not serve as a patient’s official Primary Care Provider (PCP). We recommend that all patients maintain a designated PCP for routine and urgent care. IMCNC Providers do not prescribe or refill medications that were originally prescribed by your PCP or other specialists.

How Can I Use My Insurance at Integrative Medical Clinic?

Although IMCNC does not accept insurance, only office visits at our clinic are not covered by your plan. Most standard lab tests, imaging (such as x-rays), and prescription medications are typically covered by insurance. Some tests recommended by your provider may not be covered, and you always have the option to decline any testing.

We can provide itemized statements for your visits, which you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. For out-of-network coverage, we recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card for information on your available benefits.

PRICING

As of July 1, 2025, new patient visits are $400, and all established patient visits—including physicals—are $290. Additional services that require Provider time, such as portal messages, phone consultations, and completion of forms, are billed separately.
See all pricing here.

What We See at IMCNC

In addition to providing care for men, women, and select pediatric patients for a variety of health concerns (see the full list here), we are proud to offer North Carolina’s only Low Dose Allergy (LDA) program, led by Karen Saylor, FNP-BC.

What is a cash practice?

In this video, we explain what a cash practice is and how it works at the Integrative Medical Clinic of North Carolina (IMCNC). While we do not accept insurance for office visits, most lab tests, imaging, x-rays, and prescriptions can typically be billed through your insurance. Whether in person or via televideo, this group is hands down the best I’ve found in the area with the exceptional combination of head, heart, and hands. That they are alopathically and naturopathically trained and proficient is the frosting on the cake! I continue to be impressed by their high standards of excellence, and thorough investigative skills since first discovering them several years ago. I feel privileged to have crossed paths with this group, especially Dr. McGregor. Her smile lights up a whole room. You’re in for a real treat!

Finding IMC has been a blessing! Great place to get your whole body back in health. Working with Addie has been amazing for gut and hormonal imbalance. She listens to you and makes sure to assess each option available. I truly feel heard for once in terms of my symptoms and seeing results. Definitely recommend the practice 🙂

I flew across the country to consult with this team of highly trained physicians. With a complicated health history and frustrated with relying solely on traditional methodologies, I sought out this clinic for the physicians’s holistic approach to treating patients. The environment is warm and welcoming, the physicians are extremely thorough and deeply caring. I strongly recommend at least a consultation to any patient seeking alternative care options.

I believe in natural, holistic & non conventional medical approaches. I have searched for many years to find a practice that would work for my many health concerns. As a Senior, there continues to be new challenges to address. Integrative Medical Clinic in Chapel Hill not only has helped me find answers that I have been searching for decades, but continues to have additional services that I will be able to utilize quickly. Senior Citizens are not always valued. Here I feel just as valued as any other citizen. In fact, I’m made to feel special.

I have been seeing Addie Skow for over a year now and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. First and foremost, she LISTENS. Addie takes her time to really understand you and your symptoms. I have been seeing specialists for decades and it wasn’t until I started being treated by Addie that my symptoms and quality of life significantly improved. Moving to this practice was the best decision I ever made for my health!

I have finally found a doctor who listens and wants to help! They were open to giving me more natural alternatives, instead of pushing stronger meds with more side effects. They seem to genuinely want to correct the root causes of my medical issues instead of just putting a band aid on them. I feel so relieved to have found such a great office! The doctor offered so many simple recommendations that already have me feeling much better and more like myself. Definitely recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

After years of being told that symptoms that I was suffering from were “normal” for a woman my age and feeling dismissed by past doctors, I had extensive blood work as well as other testing done to confirm that there was a deep rooted problem which caused many other health issues. Diligence has paid off and after a year of working with Addie I am feeling better not just physically but mentally as well. She has always been very transparent with her approach and has educated me to understand better how the systems of our bodies work together. I have never felt so heard by a medical professional and for that alone, they deserve full credit!

Changed my primary care to Integrative Med in Dec 2021 and it has been the best decision I have regained control of my health thanks to Addie. Addie listened to me and after 2 visits and some targeted blood work determined my issues and set me on the right path to a healthy life. She is so passionate about women’s health and is knowledgeable and caring. I love that that she takes time with me and that I can message her knowing she will answer. I highly recommend them. Truly has made a difference in my life! Thank you so much.

I had my first visit with Julie McGregor this week after previously seeing Will Pendergraft who is no longer with the office. I was very pleased. The waiting room and Dr. McGregor’s office are both very calm and peaceful. Dr. McGregor was easy to talk to, listened attentively and showed genuine concern for any issues that I discussed.

Jill M.

I am a strong believer in using natural medicine whenever possible but I like having doctors that have the training to use either or both natural/holistic and conventional medicine.
The office has calming esthetics unlike most medical settings.
Thank you for creating a great practice that is patient centered!

Emily T.

They have a great range of complementary services available, and all in a soothing atmosphere.

Mary W.

Three generations of my family receive solutions and preventative pathways to health at IMCNC.
The IMCNC practice delivers extended healthcare services delivered by skilled practitioners. I have experienced benefit from both expert medical intervention and improved sleep and skin, plus experiencing elimination of pain and inflammation by using red light therapy. I feel calm and confident every time I visit IMCNC.

Addie Skow is the most knowledgeable and compassionate Dr. I have ever seen. She tailors her care for my specific issues, which do not have a straightforward diagnosis (endocrine and hormonal problems). She knows how to treat subtle things, and overt problems in a wholistic way. I cannot sing her praises enough. I am so grateful for her and this practice!

Tyler F.

This is an amazing practice with incredible medical staff. Ask for Addie Skow. She has such an extensive knowledge in endocrineology. I’m never going to anyone else again.

Jessica F.

If you are looking for a phenomenal practice, this is definitely the place! The staff, doctors and nurses are all wonderful. Addie Skow took her time and explained things so well. I felt like I finally got answers after years of frustration and lots of wasted visits other places. Give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed!

Energy Medicine

Energy Medicine (EM) is defined as any energetic or informational interaction with a biological system to bring back homeostasis in the organism. EM treats with the understanding that all illness results from disturbances in this energy known as the human biofield (chi or prana), and works by manipulating the body’s energy fields to achieve a positive effect on physical and mental health. Energy Medicine theory states “Physics does not override biochemistry, it drives it.”
