Allergy shots are a proven immunotherapy treatment that gradually builds your body's resistance to specific allergens, reducing symptoms and providing long-lasting relief from allergic reactions.
Allergies, asthma, migraines, autoimmune disorders, and mental health issues, among other symptoms.
Small doses of an enzyme to prompt the body's immune response, alleviating symptoms and promoting long-term relief.
Commonly called: Allergy Therapy, Allergy Treatment, Low Dose Allergen Immunotherapy (LDA)
Here at the Integrative Medical Clinic of North Carolina we are lucky enough to have Karen Saylor, Family Nurse Practitioner, as our resident Low Dose Allergen Immunotherapy (LDA) specialist.
Low Dose Allergen (LDA) immunotherapy, is a method of treating not only allergies but a number of health concerns.
LDA works by providing a miniscule dose of the enzyme, beta-glucuronidase, which stimulates the production of T-suppressor cells. These cells subdue the components of the immune system that can lead to the symptoms of feeling ill. With the boosting of the T-suppressor cells while introducing homeopathic levels of antigens into the body, the body begins to build a tolerance to certain triggers. In a broad range of conditions, the immune system is “turned up” and treats healthy and normal proteins in the body as allergens.
LDA works in a way that it only needs to be administered every 2 months and with time, even less often. The injections are given with a very tiny intradermal needle on the inner aspect of the forearm.
If you have allergy, sensitivity, or intolerance to foods, chemicals or inhalants (pollens, dust, mites, danders, etc.), LDA therapy could be the answer that you have been looking for.

Whether in person or via televideo, this group is hands down the best I’ve found in the area with the exceptional combination of head, heart, and hands. That they are alopathically and naturopathically trained and proficient is the frosting on the cake! I continue to be impressed by their high standards of excellence, and thorough investigative skills since first discovering them several years ago. I feel privileged to have crossed paths with this group, especially Dr. McGregor. Her smile lights up a whole room. You’re in for a real treat!

I flew across the country to consult with this team of highly trained physicians. With a complicated health history and frustrated with relying solely on traditional methodologies, I sought out this clinic for the physicians’s holistic approach to treating patients. The environment is warm and welcoming, the physicians are extremely thorough and deeply caring. I strongly recommend at least a consultation to any patient seeking alternative care options.

Energy Medicine (EM) is defined as any energetic or informational interaction with a biological system to bring back homeostasis in the organism. EM treats with the understanding that all illness results from disturbances in this energy known as the human biofield (chi or prana), and works by manipulating the body’s energy fields to achieve a positive effect on physical and mental health. Energy Medicine theory states “Physics does not override biochemistry, it drives it.”
